First ICOMOS Info Session about the Knowledge HUB

On November 26, 2025, ICOMOS, together with FuturHist, launched the first info session about the ISCES ICOMOS Knowledge HUB.

At the beginning of the meeting, Daniel Herrera (Eurac Research) introduced the typological approach developed within the FuturHist project.

We had the opportunity to learn about “Spara och bevara”, a Swedish research program focused on improving energy efficiency in historic buildings. Tor Broström (Uppsala University) shared insights from his long-term involvement in the project, which has already concluded but continues to serve as an extensive and valuable knowledge base.

A recurring theme across all presentations was the ambition to create a dedicated space for gathering and sharing the materials and findings produced through these initiatives. In this context, Franziska Haas, Philipp Hesse, and Faye Nzegang (ICOMOS) presented the concept of the Knowledge HUB – a repository and database designed to collect results, publications, and resources. This platform aims to support the dissemination of the knowledge generated through our collective efforts.

The meeting also included an open and engaging discussion on what types of information users most frequently search for, which content would be essential for such a database, and which features would make it most valuable.
