You probably have heard of alchemists attempting to turn metals into noble materials. The quest for the perfect formula of innovative insulation materials reminds us of these efforts but is far more advanced! We are lucky to have researchers and industry representatives on our team exploring this.
At FuturHist, we collaborate with cutting-edge materials manufacturers, including natürlich bauen, which specialises in clay-based materials.
Kai Längle and Thomas Mathis from natürlich bauen presented the FuturHist goals during the trade fair com:bau March, 1-3, 2024 in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Austria. It was the first presentation of our project during such an event!
The fair attracts 10,000 visitors, including architects, renovation experts, and house builders from the four-country region of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein.
FuturHist appeared in the special exposition Climate Building Materials of the Future. Visitors could examine first impressions of the materials that the FuturHist’s research team will explore in the project.
In addition, Kai and Thomas presented the project to numerous experts and interested parties at the associated specialist forum.
As the organisers of com:bau summarise, visitors showed less interest in new construction this year and more interest in renovations, extensions, and conversions. The experts were on hand to provide interested parties with competent advice and explain how sustainable building materials and energy-efficient products can be used for climate-friendly construction.
