Passive Retrofit Strategies for Heritage Buildings available now!

On March 17, 2026, FuturHist, together with INTBAU, launched the first episode of the webinar series: “From Heritage to Energy Transition with FuturHist & INTBAU. Passive and Active Solutions for Historic Buildings.”

“Passive Retrofit Strategies for Heritage Buildings” focused on passive renovation solutions for retrofitting historic buildings. Marjo Uotila (INTBAU Finland) spoke about the balance between sustainability and innovation. Daniel Herrera (Eurac Research) presented the typology-based approach developed within the FuturHist project. Combining typology-driven strategies with innovative materials can make heritage renovation both sustainable and scalable across Europe.

Marianna Muchorowska (Innsbruck University) and Alexandra Troi (Eurac Research) showcased insulation and window solutions, focusing on innovative approaches to improving energy performance in historic buildings.

The session concluded with a very lively discussion, moderated by Tomasz Jeleński (The Sendzimir Foundation/INTBAU).

Don’t miss the next webinar on March 24 at 11:00 CET, “How Active Systems Can Support Heritage Buildings”, featuring a special guest from our sister project, HeriTACE!
