On March 24, 2026, FuturHist, together with INTBAU, continued the webinar series: “From Heritage to Energy Transition with FuturHist & INTBAU. Passive and Active Solutions for Historic Buildings.” with the next episode: “How Active Systems Can Support Heritage Buildings”.
Marjo Uotila (INTBAU Finland) illustrated examples of poor solutions, emphasizing the importance of properly applying active systems in the context of heritage buildings.
Federico Trentin (Eurac Research) presented the active systems developed within the FuturHist project. Marianna Muchorowska (Innsbruck University), as in the previous webinar, walked us through a long list and a short list of potential solutions, demonstrating their use in the FuturHist project demo case through a typological approach.
Nicolas De Vriendt (Sweco Belgium), from our sister project HeriTACE, focused on neighbourhood level. He also outlined the process from longlisting to shortlisting solutions, highlighting key constraints and opportunities for their implementation in heritage environments.
This session has also concluded with a very engaging discussion, moderated by Tomasz Jeleński (The Sendzimir Foundation/INTBAU).
The webinar recording “Passive Retrofit Strategies for Heritage Buildings” is now available for those who missed it!
